Counties from the larger Coast region have on Thursday submitted their forms to the FKF Electoral Board ahead of the repeat elections
Among the aspirants who showed up at FKF House, Goal Project, are South Coast Branch Secretary Lilian Nandudu, who will be eyeing the top Chairperson’s seat in Mombasa.
North Coast Branch secretary Dickson Angore, who is vying for the Kilifi County Chairperson’s position, also submitted his documents.
“I believe I have all it takes to lead Mombasa County,” said a confident Nandudu, who has previously played for the Kenya women national team, Harambee Starlets.
“The nomination process was seamless. I got all necessary documents from the website and had the checklist with me. I am now ready to face anyone who comes my way,” she added.
On Tuesday, aspirants from Mandera, Marsabit, Isiolo, Meru, Tharaka Nithi, Embu, Kitui, and Machakos are expected to present their papers to the board, while on Wednesday, aspirants from Makueni, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Turkana, and West Pokot will have their day.
The deadline for submission of relevant documents is Tuesday, February 18, 2020, after which the Board will publish a preliminary list of candidates on February 21, 2020.
County elections have been scheduled for Saturday, March 14, with the national elections slated for Friday, March 27, 2020.
